Warranty
Environmental exposures will expand or contract wood and are not considered defects and are not covered by warranty. By purchasing, you are acknowledging that:
- Wood characteristics that naturally occur (e.g., variations in color, grain, mineral streaks, or knots) are not considered defects and are not covered under the warranty.
- Painted doors, drawer fronts, and face frames may have visible cracking around the joint area, and cabinet colors may darken or lighten over time. These conditions are considered a normal occurrence and are not considered defects.
- Any modifications to the hardware structure or finish will not be covered under the warranty.
- Mitered door joints in particular are likely to react to conditions of their environment. Gaps that may develop in door joints due to conditions of their environment are not considered defects and are not covered by warranty.
- Hairline cracks are the joint between two pieces of wood and depending on the humidity and conditions in the home, the cracks can expand or contract. These are unavoidable in wood cabinets given the nature of the material and are not considered defects and are not covered by warranty.
- Observing shrinking or expansion on center panels of doors is common. It will return to its natural position within a couple months once it has adjusted to seasonal changes. Wood expansion and contraction will happen as it adjusts to ever changing atmospheric humidity and temperature conditions and are not considered defects and are not covered by warranty.
- Warps are not defects; it is a natural condition of wood. Gaps measured at ¼” and less are not considered warped. Please see below on Warped Door Policy for more information on warps and the replacement process.
If you receive an order and you believe the damage is a manufacturing defect, you must file a claim form and submit it so that we can start a claim process. We will look into your claim as soon as possible, but please allow up to one week. All manufacturing defect and damage claims must be filed within 30 days of receiving the order – no exceptions. If a certain job is delayed and you must hold assembly past the 30-day period, you must still open all boxes and check the entire order for any major damage. A delayed job is not a valid reason for not being able to check your order. Please see Claims for more information.
Warped Door Policy
Please read the following on warps.
- Warping is a condition and not a manufacturing defect. It is the product reacting to changing environmental conditions. Wood expansion and contraction will happen.
- Door warping usually occurs when there is a rise in humidity or damp conditions, causing the moisture in the air to soak into the wood. In most cases a warped door will straighten out after it has acclimated to its surroundings. We recommend the door be allowed to hang through at least two seasons (6 months) to allow it to adjust to changing temperature/environment.
As per warranty guidelines, we will warrant door warpage greater than ¼”. Please remove all doors in the claim and lay them on a flat surface and take all necessary photos and measurements showing the warpage.
We will need the following 3 pictures:
1st picture: Entire door on a table with a leveling tool/bar on the table (not on the door).
2nd picture: Close up picture of the leveling tool showing the table is level.
3rd picture: A measurement tape next to the door showing the gap distance from the table to door.
2nd picture: Close up picture of the leveling tool showing the table is level.
3rd picture: A measurement tape next to the door showing the gap distance from the table to door.
An example is shown below. Using the example, we can see that the door is at 3/16” and would not be replaced at this time and will need to be remeasured after 6 months.
If the door is measured to be not greater than ¼” of warpage, we will not grant approval for the claim at this time. However, we will allow you to remeasure and resubmit new photos 6 months from the day the claim is denied allowing the door to adjust to your environmental conditions.
- If the door warpage measured is same or less at that time than the initial measure, the claim will be ultimately closed.
- If the door warpage measures greater than ¼”, we will grant approval for a replacement door, as long as the above stated wood characertistics along with conditions stated below (if any applies, the warranty is negated):
-
- The door must be in good condition with no signs of improper handling or usage.
- The door must not have any signs of modification.
- The door must not show any signs of damage through wear and tear or harsh cleaning products that may alter or change the appearance/color of the door.
