Claims

Claims

All damage or defect claims must be filed within 30 days of receiving the order and all shipping damage and/or incomplete delivery claims must be filed within 5 days – no exceptions. A delayed job is not a valid reason for not checking your entire order. All claims require pictures of the damage and must accompany the claim form. JK Cabinetry FL reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding claims. Fraudulent claims are a crime and violators may be prosecuted.

To ensure that you receive all the replacements needed, please check your entire order before filling out a claim form as no additional claims will be accepted for each invoice. Only one claim form for an order is allowed.

Once filed, we will look into your claim as soon as possible, but please allow up to one week und up to three weeks for shipping claims on damages during transit or missing pieces. If your claim is approved, your replacement order will be processed and submitted to the warehouse. If your order was originally picked up from our warehouse, you must pick up the replacements as shipping will not be covered.

All trim/molding damage claims must include the following pictures:
  1. At least half of the trim/molding in one full picture so we are able to see the general location of the damage.
  2. A close-up picture of the damage.

All cabinet damage claims must include the following pictures:

  1. A picture showing the entire cabinet.
  2. At least two different angles of the damage.
We will ask you to send additional photos should the photos you submitted do not show enough.

Please DO NOT install anything that you suspect is manufacture damage or damaged from shipping. If you install or assemble the cabinets, any damage claims will be denied. If you install the handles onto the doors, any damage claims will be denied. Installation of any damaged items will void all warranty.

Shipping Claim

If you are claiming shipping damage, you must note the damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL) as well as pictures of the shipment during delivery. If shipping damages were not noted on the BOL or pictures were not taken, the claim will be denied as per our Terms and Conditions and the carrier’s Service Conditions, shipping damage will not be accepted if the damage were not noted on the BOL. Without both noting damages and taking picture, we, as well as the carrier, will see that the shipment was delivered in good and acceptable condition.

All freight shipping from one invoice will be shipped together under one BOL, so you should receive your shipment on a single delivery. If the freight company does not deliver all pieces (e.g., you are to receive 2 pallets and 1 box, but only received 2 pallets), you must note the missing pieces on the BOL so that we can file a claim with the shipping company to start a search/dock check. If you sign the BOL without noting damages or noting missing pieces, this will make the shipping claim much harder and will be denied if the carrier denies the claim.

Shipping claims on manufacturing defects (not shipping damages) will cover shipping, however trim/molding replacements will be cut in half; shipping at full length will not be covered and you must pay full shipping costs. Shipping claims on shipping damages must have damages noted on the Bill of Lading (BOL). If damages are not noted, the shipping claim will be denied as we, as well as the carrier, will see that the shipment was delivered in perfect condition.

Please read under Shipping/Delivery for more information on shipping.
